Yet another great piece by Aaron Frank, fellow rider, writer and friend. 2013 just keeps on giving, I’ve had such a fantastic year of making images, and one more example here from a Wisconsin trail ride 2013.
It was a great pleasure to be given the opportunity to photograph Craig Johnson and his AWD 950 again. His skills with motorcycles, travel, and life are second to nothing. If you can dream it he can build it, and be a nice honest guy doing it too. You can find this article in the December issue of Motorcyclist, if you do not have a copy you should get one. If you want to know more about his business you can find his site here CJDesignsLLC and Motorcyclist Magazine
This does not happen very often anymore but a 4×5 film B&W commercial job? Wow! I’m totally in. I guess there are still archival standards out there for some who insist in the old school darkroom, 4×5 sheet film, and the fiber based print. I love it!!!! Bring on the film jobs because that is where my passion for printing started in 1994. The darkroom is what started my love for the perfect B&W print so many years ago and why I operate the business I do today.
Well 2013 is well on it’s way but I would like to take a moment to reflect and thank everyone for such an outstanding 2012. I had the opportunity to work with some great artists and photographers and I had fun doing it! Nothing could be better! I did manage a few days off this holiday to go fly fishing, there is something about standing in the icy river while it’s snowing that is so peaceful. Happy 2013 to my clients, friends and everyone!
I spent quite a bit of time digging through my Alaska to Mexico collection of images in the last couple weeks preparing for this group show at Heights Arts. I found these images that Craig Johnson of CJ Designs took of me riding. Some of the places we went and the roads we used to get there were tough going. Some may even say those are not roads. I hope to see you on Friday night at the opening. Thanks Craig for the shots.
